It is not common to write down one's feelings openly.
This is where the
signet came to the rescue: a wax
seal was added to the letter, and with the symbol (sometimes with an inscription) of the seal, an additional
message was given to the reader.
The seal is a stamp made of hard material that is suitable for pressing a seal into a sealing compound.
